West Meade Residence
Nashville, Tennessee
This home based loosely on English Arts and Crafts precedents, mainly homes executed by Baillie Scott and Edwin Lutyens, filtered through more contemporary Southern versions of Arts and Crafts influenced homes, sits on a large lot in the West Meade area of Nashville, Tennessee. The exterior consists of natural hand-made brick contrasted by dark painted siding and limestone details. Visitors are greeted with a welcoming swooped roof and limestone surround at the front porch and entry, and generous glazing at a front facing stairway. The dining room is immediately to the left and has a full wall of glass that views the expansive front yard. A spacious Living Room and Kitchen open beyond to a large covered porch accessed through large glass sliding doors. Views open to the terraces, swimming pool, pool house, and lush landscaping that provide a private courtyard feel. Construction and Interior Design was by Castle Homes, and Landscape Design was by Outdoor Ink LLC. Photography by Reed Brown.
