Battery Lane Residence
Nashville, Tennessee
Originally conceived as a “Show House”, the planning took a different approach with the onset of the pandemic- more time and more refinement took place as the “pace” slowed and the event was cancelled for obvious reasons. The exterior takes cues from Arts and Crafts precedents with sheltering eaves with corbels and brackets, gentle swoops, and an indirect entrance that forms a refuge from the busy street outside. Painted, stuccoed brick, stone, dark painted nickel-gap siding, and concrete roof tiles make up the general palate of the exterior, while the interior is mainly “white” with dark paint and natural wood contrasts. Construction was by Focus Builders, Landscape design by Outdoor Ink LLC, and photography by Kristen Mayfield Photography.
